7:17 A.M.-Alyssa and I departed for our "Sister Day 2009" Adventure!
She took the wheel and I took my post as navigator!
10:39 A.M.- We passed state lines and entered Michigan territory.
Alyssa passed up her photo op. with the "Welcome to Michigan" sign.
(I was personally not too thrilled with,
yet another re-entry to Michigan.)
10:45 A.M.-Until...."World's Largest Stormy Kromer" sighting! (Ironwood, MI)
11:13 A.M.- "Little Finland"-- what a terrific roadside surprise!
We overheard some older folks in the shop
talking bad about those "Hurley Wiitala's"
We bought a few little Finnish treasures to help boast our heritage!
11:48 P.M.- Following a google map photo lead ...
we found ourselves at Saxon "Falls".
Not exactly what we had anticipated but used it as decent photo opportunity.
12:35 P.M.- We sat on the beach of Saxon Harbor to eat our lunch.
We stuck our feet into frigid Lake Superior
(I have dipped my toes into 3 great lake of the summer)
2:15 P.M. We probably witnessed Wisconsin's proudest roadside
attractions with this sighting of "World's Largest Deer" (Fifeld, WI)
2:20 P.M.- We did a quick tour of the concrete park (Phillips, WI) Retired lumberjack Fred Smith sculpted some 237 concrete creations. They are on display at this outdoor museum.
4:47 P.M.- A day filled with fun and craziness! (and we still made it home in time for dinner!)

Inga and I had the privilege of meeting the Mosse' Family
(Our missionary team leaders) at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago...as they were in route from Southern California back to Ukraine! It was especially exciting for me...because I had not visited with them since my visit back to Odessa. (summer 2007)
Anya and Micah didn't send me the "funny face" memo
