Birthday, Seminary, and Team building...

Year 24 made its grand entrance on June 18, 2009. 

I was greeted bright and early with a Happy Birthday sign and some really rad gifts. After class, Inga* treated me to sushi for lunch. 

Later that evening

 my dear, 

Jenny Fey 

flew in from 

Minneapolis 

to help continue 

the day of:

 celebration. 

We ate 

delicious 

Indian food. 

It was a great day of celebration...(also in part...to the many texts, phone calls, and facebook greetings!)

Needless to say year 24 is off to a great start!

*Inga is my teammate in Ukraine

I am half way through Systematic Theology II at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. I have been trying to work hard and stay on top of my assignments. (most know that this can be a bit of a struggle for me) I am not doing half bad! 

Inga and I have had

 a great time 

hanging out 

and studying together.

 She is a great gal!

I am so excited

 to work 

together in Ukraine!

Tuesday marked my retirement.

It was the end of my career as a lunchroom supervisor.

I will not miss the cafeteria.
Good riddance to:

• picking up napkins off the floor
• scraping food off the bottom of my shoe
• asking children to sit on their pockets
  
• trying to sweep up rice
  
• mopping up milk spills
• refereeing arguments
• catching barf on a lunch trays

I will miss Stevenson Elementary School.

I will miss my job as a special ed. para
I will miss laughing with the students
I will miss the challenge of motivating a student
I will miss watching students succeed
I will miss working alongside wonderful staff
I will miss lunch with the 2nd grade teachers
I will miss listening to the struggles kids face
I will miss overhearing 3rd grade drama
I will miss the funny conversations with children










Also too, I will miss working with Mrs. Anne Karson
